Landmark University has again recorded another giant stride as six of her programmes presented to the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the October-November 2019 accreditation returned full accreditation status with a total score between 88 and 99%. The programmes are Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Microbiology, Industrial Chemistry and International Relations. It is noteworthy that Political Science was granted interim accreditation. The Commission through its Directorate of Accreditation communicated the results to the University in a letter dated 19th March 2020 with the implication that the full accreditation status is valid for five (5) years while interim accreditation status is two (2) years. In his congratulatory message to the University community on Monday 11th May, 2020, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adeniyi Olayanju described the feat as the Lord’s doing. While reiterating the commitment of the institution towards attaining world-class status by sustainably ensuring best practices in the University, Professor Olayanju used the medium to appreciate the Chancellor, Dr. David Oyedepo, Members of Board of Regents, Management and the entire University community for their unquantifiable efforts during the exercise. He, therefore, implored the university community to see the achievement as a call to do more, noting that there is always a room for improvement. He stated that with the array of dedicated faculty and staff, Landmark will in no distant time become a force to reckon globally in excellent academic practices, teaching and research, food production and provision.
May 15, 2020 is celebration day at Landmark as the University just crossed her first - 1000 documents fully indexed in Scopus Journals. Of these numbers, a total of 432 are published in Gold Open access while the remaining 574 are Green. This intentional feat followed the reawakening call of 2017, thereby making research and publishing at Landmark to be at a steadily upward pace with each year witnessing immense increase in the number of documents published and indexed in the Scopus database (The official publication and indexing platform for ranking world leading Universities). We can liken our research exploits to the word of the Lord in Isaiah 9:8 KJV which say The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel Having keyed into the ever-increasing teachings and admonitions of Our Chancellor, Dr. David Oyedepo and the exploit of Our Sister University, Covenant, the University has since become a hub of research activities most leading to high impact publications. Taking a giant leap from the 2017 record of 75 Scopus indexed documents, LMU went on to record a whopping 228 documents in 2018 and this drastically increased to 387 for 2019. As at the time of writing this report, a total of 160 documents have already been indexed in Scopus for the year 2020. Indeed, the Lord has been gracious to us at LMU.

In an effort to ensure continuous academic activities during COVID-19 thereby scaling the uncertainty of fulfilling its academic calendar, the Management of Landmark University ably led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adeniyi Olayanju on Easter Sunday 12th April, 2020 announced the commencement of e-lectures for its expectant students who have been away from the campus since the lockdown directives of both Federal and State Governments late March, 2020 against the spread of the virus. “As an aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and the eventual enforcement of different categories of lockdown by both Federal and State Governments to curb the spread of the virus; an e-learning structure has been put in place by Landmark University to ensure that students are academically engaged while the lock down lasts.” According to the notice signed by the Registrar, Miss Fola Oyinloye, the online school takes immediate effect, and lectures are expected to commence by Tuesday, 14th April 2020. The University’s e-learning service platform has since been complementing classroom activities where students access lecture notes, take and submit classwork and assignments, among other academic engagements. It is, therefore, a familiar terrain for both students and lecturers to interact hitch-free. By extension, the e-lecture is to bridge the geographical gap created by the mandatory school closure between the students and their lecturers with the use of virtual tools to facilitate learning.
